Andy Twyman and Blues Mammoth

Andy Twyman is an exceptional one man band, and a founding member of the band Blues Mammoth (see below).

One man band

The music of Andy Twyman is both at the heart and the edge of the Blues at the same time. A superlative one man band with the ability to play classic Blues tunes and boogie with verve, he also has a gift for contemporary and humorous songwriting.

Andy’s last album, Blues You Haven’t Heard Before, achieved positive reviews and airplay. With performances in Paris, Holland and Spain to his credit, Andy is building on appearances at the Great British R & B Festival in Colne, the Ealing Blues Festival and more with dates at more popular festivals such as Outcider. Andy, also featured in The Sun, Daily Mail and Daily Mirror, and on TV’s Channel 4, is a rising star.

Andy is also a founder member of the band Blues Mammoth.

Blues Mammoth

Blues Mammoth is the blues band brainchild of Jack Pout & Andy Twyman. While working the festival circuit as solo acts in 2016, a series of chance encounters led the pair to strike up a friendship. A meeting of minds triggered the formation of Blues Mammoth.

Both Jack and Andy have successful solo music careers. Andy first took to the stage aged 12 performing in pubs and clubs, and at 18 began to develop his one man band act. As outlined above, he has been described as “The Master of The One Man Band” (Blues in Britain Magazine) and has performed on BBC Three and Channel 4. His music has received airplay on BBC Radio Kent and has been the subject of articles in The Sun, The Mirror and The Daily Mail. Jack’s personal and nuanced style of folk-blues song writing earned him a nomination for a BBC Folk Award. Performing at festivals across the country, as a front man, compere and instrumentalist, he has toured through France, Spain, The Netherlands and Germany in multiple acts.

In the 1960s young minds met over a passion for the blues. Decades later, it’s happened again.
